keto. it’s all the rage right now, isn’t it?
Funny thing is, about 4 years ago, I did some research on it and even concidered giving it a shot…but my sweet husband thought it was just another crazy gimmick and I didn’t persue it. Fast forward to about 6 weeks ago and guess what? That same sweet husband starts his own research, and DOES decide to try it out.
His immune system and digestive system (which are basically one in the same, aren’t they?) have never been as weak as mine, but he hasn’t been sick once in these few weeks. He’s dropped several pounds and he doesn’t get hangry anymore, in fact, he doesn’t ever get “starving” either. Bonus: he’s even become a cyclist and is training for a 100-mile race. All this in just a few short weeks, y’all.
I’ve been eating his delicious keto dinners but that’s as far as my commitment has gone. I’ve spent the last 3 days, which included a fun double date weekend at our lake house, dealing with yet another stomach bug. My migraines are increasing again and well, I just generally feel like shit. Work is busy and stressful enough without the added guilt of calling out sick all the time.
What I’m saying is this: I’m jumping on the keto train. I will be using this space to journal what (hopefully positive) effects it has on my digestion, my migraines, my PCOS, my energy levels. It may be a boring read, it may be thoroughly enjoyable…stay tuned to find out 😉
p.s. this is me literally right this second: tired, puffy, irritated. With thinning hair and angry guts. Lovely, no?
Just kidding, it won’t let me attach the photo…but you get the general idea. I look and feel gross.
